It’s New York City once again, but not for its regular hustle and bustle. No. This time around, the Puppy Bowl is back with a bang. The Westminster dog show 2022 is on schedule, and people worldwide can’t wait to catch it. The first-ever Westminster Dog Show went down on May 8, 1877. Gauging from this timeline, this sporting event is one of the oldest events. The Westminster Hotel in Manhattan first held it, and that’s how it got its name; the Westminster Dog Show. This event is a showcase for dog talents. It comprises numerous categories, breeds, and a class of dogs. Today, the show features thousands of dogs. The last event had over 165 recognized breeds of dogs that came from all over the world. The event is often held for two or more days.
FACT: For more than two days, over 3,000 dogs from all around the world will compete for ultimate prizes. The prizes are many and include Agility Championship to Overall Best in The Show Prize.

The 146th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is heading back to Westchester County.
The organization announced Tuesday that the postponed Jan. 22-26 events are now scheduled for June 18-22 at the Lyndhurst Estate in Tarrytown, according to a news release.
Club officials postponed the January events in December because of the omicron variant surge in New York City.
This is the second year in a row the organization has had to adjust the timing of the dog show because of the pandemic.
With the safety and well-being of the participants remaining the driving force, the Westchester Kennel Club’s Board of Governors decided that an outdoor event is once again the most responsible plan.
Last year, the 145th dog show was held outdoors on the Lyndhurst Estate, which is a National Trust for Historic Preservation Property. It was the first time the iconic dog show was not held in Manhattan.
In March, the organization decided to not allow spectators to the 2021 dog show because of state restrictions on the number of attendees at events.
For 2022, there will be 19.5 hours of television coverage scheduled on Fox, Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2
Westminster Week 2022 will begin with the Masters Agility Championship on Saturday, June 18, followed by Junior Showmanship, Breed, Group and Best in Show judging June 20-22. The Masters Obedience Championship will be Monday, June 20.
Lyndhurst is located on Route 9 in Tarrytown. Its 67-acres were donated to the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 1961.
